Danny Dodson, Executive Director & Treasurer – United States
As the Executive Director, Danny oversees the everyday operations of Peruvian Hearts in the United States and works direclty with the team in Peru on a daily basis. He travels to Peru regularly throughout the year to help monitor the progress and impacts of different projects. Danny joined the Peruvian Hearts team in 2006 and believes strongly that the education and empowerment of girls is key to eradicating poverty and will ultimately lead to a more peaceful world. He received his B.A. in Economics from Bates College in 2005. Danny resides in Golden, Colorado and is proud to be an honorary member of the Evergreen Rotary Club.
Edwin Gonzalez, Program Director – Peru
Edwin is the Program Director in Peru and is in charge of overseeing all new projects on the ground. Edwin is the beloved Peruvian Hearts ambassador for visitors and volunteers. He has worked in the hotel industry for over 45 years and currently owns and operates La Quinta Eco Hotel in Urubamba, Peru, which has a 100% organic farm that provides the food for the hotel. Edwin is a former member of the Cusco Rotary Club and also worked as the head tourism advisor for former President of Peru, Alejandro Toledo. Edwin speaks eight languages and enjoys spending time with his family in the Sacred Valley near Cusco.
Jeannette Gonzalez, Peruvian Promise Coordinator – Peru
As the Director of Peruvian Promise, Jeannette Gonzalez is our angel in Cusco. She works as a mentor and acts as a second mother to all of the girls in Peruvian Promise. She was born and raised in Cusco and received her degree in Tourism from the National University of San Antonio Abad of Cusco. Jeannette is passionate about girls’ leadership and empowerment through education and mentorship. She is married to Edwin Gonzalez and lives in Cusco with their two daughters, Sofia and Valeria.
