Danny Dodson, Executive Director
Danny received his B.A. in Economics from Bates College in 2005. He serves as the Treasurer of Peruvian Hearts and also works as a legal assistant at Dodson and Associates, P.C. He currently oversees the everyday operations of Peruvian Hearts. Danny is an honorary member of the Evergreen Rotary Club and enjoys traveling and playing golf. He manages and plays on a baseball team in Denver called the Rox and currently resides in the Washington Park neighborhood of Denver.
Sam Hodges, Development Intern
Sam is an undergraduate at the University of Denver, majoring in Spanish and International Studies. After spending two weeks in the Andes of Peru and meeting so many wonderful people, he felt fortunate to have the chance to give back to the region through the work of Peruvian Hearts. Sam is passionate about helping children and working in the non-profit field. In his free time, he likes skiing, biking, and running.
Callin Veater, Development Intern
Callin is currently working toward her M.A. in International Development at the University of Denver. Previously Callin studied Mathematics and Computer Science, receiving a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri Science and Technology). Callin is a newlywed who enjoys spending time with her husband and puppies, traveling and mountain activities.
Peru
Edwin Gonzalez, Program Director
Edwin currently works as the main Program Director for Peruvian Hearts and is in charge of overseeing all new projects on the ground. He has worked in the hotel industry for over 40 years and currently owns and operates LaQuinta Eco Hotel in Urubamba, Peru, which has a 100% organic farm that provides the food for the hotel. Edwin is a past president of the Cusco Rotary Club and has also worked as a tourism advisor for former President of Peru, Alejandro Toledo. Edwin speaks eight languages and enjoys spending time with his family in the Sacred Valley of Peru.
Rosa Jaramillo, Program Liaison (Anta, Lamay)
Rosa was born and raised in Cusco, Peru and has been a part of the Peruvian Hearts family since its inception. She helps coordinate Peruvian Hearts’ different programs on the ground in Peru and works as a mentor for the Peruvian Promise program. She speaks Spanish and Quechua fluently and just happens to be Peru's absolute best cook!
Jeannette Gonzalez, Peruvian Promise Coordinator
Jeannette is Edwin's wife and is the newest member of the Peruvian Hearts team. Jeannette was born and raised in Cusco and formerly worked as a certified tour guide. She now spends her time raising her two daughters, Sofia and Fatima, and is passionate about girls’ education.
