We can do no great things, only small things with great love. – Mother Teresa
Peruvian Hearts was founded in 2003 by 11 year-old, Ana Dodson. Ana was adopted as a baby from Cusco, Peru in 1992. After returning to Peru for the first time in 2003, Ana was moved by the extreme poverty she saw and in an effort to help the children of Peru, she decided to start Peruvian Hearts. Peruvian Hearts is a United States based public charity that is registered under IRS guidelines as a 501(c)(3) organization. Peruvian Hearts is headquartered in Golden, Colorado.
Our Mission: Peruvian Hearts believes in the dignity and value of every child, and works to transform the lives of orphans and other children living in poverty in Peru through improved education, nutrition, and health care.
Concurrent with our primary mission, Peruvian Hearts also strives to educate youth around the world about the importance and values of giving back and inspire them to become involved in service and philanthropy.
